Hello!
I'm going to be documenting my progress to build a $10k bankroll from $500 by following strict bankroll management. My aim is to prove this is entirely possible within a reasonable time period. I believe the main thing seperating average players from good players is being able to manage your money effectively. This has been done from $1 but I don't have the patience for uber-micro limits, so I've decided to go with a $500 starting bank. This isn't a challenge to get to $10k as quick as possible risking everything along the way; the idea is that there is no (read: very little) chance of going broke. Barring some major disaster, I'm 100% confident I'll complete the task. I have withdrawn everything from my Full Tilt account, apart from the $500 needed for this challenge. I'll be posting interesting hands and talking about pokertracker stats.
The rules for the task are as follows.
1) $500 starting bank. I am not allowed to deposit or withdraw until I reach the $10k mark.
2) I must have 20 buyins for every limit I'm playing. I'll always buyin for the max.
3) I'm allowed to play any game I like (horse, razz, stud, hold'em, omaha, 5cd etc), although I'll primarily play NLHE and PLO.
4) No more than 10% of my bankroll in play at any time.
I'll be moving up limits when I have 20 buyins for each limit:
$500 -> 25NL
$1000 -> $50NL
$2000 -> $100NL
$4000 -> $200NL
$8000 -> 400NL
$10k -> Target.
This means my starting game will be two tabling 25NL. Henry, "hromesh" will be joining me for task. First to $10k wins a beer.
